I'm Dan Carmody-Morse — a freelance data scientist and ML engineer based in Asheville, NC. I hold a Ph.D. in Physics from UW–Madison and am a named inventor on 5 U.S. patents in applied AI/ML.
Most recently I was Manager of Data Science at 6sense, a high-growth B2B SaaS company, where I led a team of 6 and served as technical lead on multiple production ML features — driving end-to-end delivery from business requirements through deployment.
I specialize in predictive modeling, NLP, and data pipeline architecture. I care a lot about making sure the work actually lands — whether that means presenting to an exec or handing off clean code to an engineering team.
I'm currently available for freelance and contract engagements. When I'm not at the computer, you'll usually find me running or biking trails around western North Carolina.

I am a data scientist with 15+ years of experience in Python, data analysis, and mathematical modeling.
In the past I have built predictive sales and marketing models for 6sense, cleaned and analyzed health insurance data, was a fellow in the Insight Data Science program, and a physics graduate student at the University of Wisconsin.
I am currently open to freelance and contract work.
